LGBT Initiatives

The Septeni Group continuously promotes activities to ensure that the strengths of each individual are fully demonstrated by creating an environment that prevents discrimination and harassment based on gender, age, nationality, race, ethnicity, religion, thoughts, beliefs, social status, disabilities, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, among other factors.

As part of our initiatives, we have established the group-wide LGBT & Allies Network, 'SEPALLY RAINBOW.' We are actively working towards its mission of "creating a workplace where all employees are motivated to work by helping each and every employee deepen their understanding of SOGI."

Allies
The concept of understanding and supporting sexual minorities such as LGBT individuals, or people who clearly express such a stance.

Community Management

  • SEPALLY Friends

    Those who wish to declare themselves as allies can become a member of 'SEPALLY Friends' after completing the necessary training. SEPALLY Friends members express their ally status to others through means such as original stickers, and strive to create a more comfortable working environment for LGBT individuals.

  • Anonymous Survey

    Once a year, an anonymous SOGI (Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity) survey that does not identify individuals is conducted across the entire group. Voices of people with diverse SOGI are utilized in the activities of SEPALLY RAINBOW.

Awareness-raising Activities

  • LGBT Training

    We invite external instructors to conduct regular training sessions to raise awareness within the company. Employees in managerial positions are required to participate in the training to ensure they can provide appropriate support when employees with same-sex partners are eligible for benefits.

  • Creating and Distributing Posters and Merchandise

    As part of our educational activities, we create, display and distribute posters and original goods within the company.

  • Compliance Testing

    All group members take monthly compliance tests to raise awareness of LGBT issues in the company.

  • Information Sharing

    We conduct awareness-raising activities both inside and outside the company through internal e-mails and the group's official "Note" to introduce basic knowledge about LGBT issues, information about events such as Tokyo Rainbow Pride, and interviews with people who are involved in these events.

Development of the system

  • Started Applying Benefits to Same-sex Partners

    Effective January 2018, the definition of spouse in the company rules has been revised. Employees with same-sex partners are able to use the applicable system by submitting the necessary documents.
